Yesterday a scrap metal truck driving along Hwy 52 between Emmett and Horseshoe Bend sparked 10 different fires. These fires quickly joined forces and turned into four huge wildfires covering 2,500 acres!
While our house was safe from the blaze, it did reach within a quarter mile of our place (too close for comfort..). The fire took out all electricity to the area for about 6 or 7 hours – lucky, we were both in Boise at the time (Em was helping with VBS and I was working). The roads were also blocked due to the fires…
When we got home (via the back way), I ran into the house to grab my camera only to discover that the batteries were dead! Grrrr!!!! I was able to find a picture on our local newspaper website – click here to read the article. . They even have a short video clip about the fire.
